Outreach grants
THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2024 IS FEBRUARY 29.
St. Stephen's Church supports outreach ministries in a variety of ways, including leadership and coordination by paid outreach staff, extensive volunteer leadership and involvement, ongoing financial support for ReWork Richmond, annual grants to outreach partners and community organizations, and grants made by the Women of St. Stephen's.
Funds for outreach come from the annual parish budget as well as special fundraising events such as the annual golf tournament.
St. Stephen's Church evaluates grant requests with particular attention to those which serve the marginalized, weak and vulnerable. The parish supports outreach at the local, national and international levels; local efforts are focused in the East End of Richmond, where we support institutions with a spiritual component as well as those in which St. Stephen's parishioners are, or can become, involved.
Outreach is coordinated by a full-time director of outreach ministry with assistance from volunteers, and overseen by the rector of St. Stephen's Church. St. Stephen's vestry has particular responsibility for the financial and temporal concerns of the church, and is involved in funding for all outreach work, including outreach grants. In this they are assisted by a grants committee which works with the director of outreach ministries to facilitate the grants process.
Information about grants from the Women of St. Stephen's is available here.
